Ocean Gabion Box
Gabion boxes have been in use since the late 19th century and they find the most creative applications in different capacities from landscaping to military till date. Gabion Boxes are cages built using steel wire mesh, filled with stones to form individual building blocks used to construct semi-permanent structures. The wire mesh is generally twisted and woven in a hexagonal pattern and can take various shapes from a cube to a cylinder. The possibilities with these modular units are many as they are flexible and highly customizable.
Gabion Box Manufacturer and Supplier
The steel wire used in gabion cages is heavily galvanized to prevent corrosion over long periods of exposure to water, sunlight, and changing temperatures. The edges of each panel are selvedged to fortify the mesh structure using thicker wire and layers of protective polymer coating (Zinc or PVC) is also added to the wire to bolster the technical performance.
Gabion boxes are filled with stones; either picked from the project site or arranged otherwise and sometimes cement matter too. The cages are skillfully crafted to assure minimum spillage and maximum strength to enable the product to stand adverse environmental conditions. Gabion boxes are commonly put to use in constructing retaining walls or seasonal flood walls, fish screens in river streams, and silt filtration near dams.
